The Share It Fitness 365 Day Cleanse


As the popularity of the “full body cleanse” reaches epic proportions, so too are the variations and objectives of each.  Find 10 people currently doing a cleanse and odds are you’ll find 10 different cleanses to investigate.  With this much variation it’s no surprise a lot of people are completely confused about which cleanse is right for them.  Today we’re going to take a quick look at the concept of a cleanse and give you the Share It Fitness version of a full body cleanse…

If you take the time to check out the concepts behind each cleanse, you’ll see big claims about what makes them unique and effective.  Maybe it’s a different blend of minerals/vitamins or perhaps it’s a different cycle of consumption that makes it unique and supremely effective over all others.  But let’s think about things for a second…given all of this variation, one of two things must be true; first, for complete argument’s sake, if we assume each of these cleanses to be effective in achieving their goals, there really is no one specific way to achieve the general goals of any cleanse.  In fact, given the number of cleanses currently on the market, there are probably hundreds of ways to achieve the general goals of a cleanse.  Or, alternatively, if we assume a cleanse can only be achieved by a specific set of steps, then at a bare minimum, at least some of these cleanses are a complete waste of time and money.

So which is it?  Is each cleanse actually able to “reset” your body? Or are most of them full of it and only a select few actually able to achieve success?  And come to think of it, how do we even measure success?  Are we just counting pounds lost?  For most of us going on a cleanse, I think this is the primary goal.But what about their other claims?  How can we even tell we’ve accomplished what a cleanse has stated it can help with?  How do you gauge how well you’ve “reset” yourself?  Anyone have any idea how they plan to measure the amount of toxins they’ve “flushed” out of their body?  I sure don’t.

What I’m getting at here is the fact the overwhelming majority of cleanses promise extremely vague and unmeasurable results. The only quantifiable result is the weight loss claim which many of these cleanses also market towards.  Since this is the only one we can really measure, I’ll take a second to examine this….

I don’t care what cleanse you’re on, I’m willing to bet it’s prescribing you fewer calories per day than you’d otherwise be taking in.  It’s amazing how shocked and amazed people are when they suddenly realize weight loss while on one of these cleanses.  If you eat less (in some cases just a bottle of juice or two a day) you’re probably going to lose weight.  That’s less the result of the cleanse and moreso the result of basic biochemistry which says you’re going to lose weight if you burn more calories than you take in.The problem is, these cleanses don’t last forever, so what do you think is going to happen when you take yourself out of semi-starvation mode and resume your normal diet?  You guessed it – you quickly jump back to your normal body weight.  And given the price of some of these cleanses (12 dollars for a bottle of juice X3 bottles per day) and you’ve just paid hundreds of dollars for a 5-8 pound weight loss that lasts all of a week or two.  That just doesn’t make sense.

The Share It Fitness 365 Day Cleanse

By now you’re probably understanding how I really feel about cleanses; they’re well-marketed, magic bullet type programs aimed at the typically impatient consumer who wants big results in less time.  So it’s understandable that you’re a little confused as I’m now about to drop the Share It Fitness 365 day cleanse on you.  But before you write this cleanse off as just another gimmick, check it out….This one is incredibly simple, effective, and best of all, completely free.  Sound too good to be true?  Decide for yourself….Here are the three basic tenants of the Share It Fitness 365 day cleanse…

1.  Eat real food.  Stop eating frozen food, fast food, junk food, fake food, food that is mass produced in a factory, and food that’s full of preservatives.  Eat whatever you want, just make sure it’s nutrient-dense and real.  Those are the only requirements you have.

2.  Eat regularly.  There’s no skipping meals or adopting a liquid diet on this cleanse – just regular eating.  This means when you’re hungry, you eat.  When you’re not hungry, you don’t eat.  If you’re not sure, odds are you’re not hungry, you’re probably just bored.

3.  Exercise.  Yes, most cleanses don’t really touch on this, but that’s what makes this one different.  Work out.  Do something.  Do anything.  Just get moving.  Run, lift weights, do yoga.  I guarantee once you start, you’re going to start feeling better, both physically and mentally.  You’re going on a cleanse to rid your body of toxins, and “reset” yourself, and blah blah blah…right?  Well, exercise does all of those things too.

Your goal is to ingrain these three rules into your life and adhere to them for 365 days.  Yes, I know…most cleanses are only a couple of weeks long, how are you supposed to go a full year!?  Well, the point is, this cleanse is a lifestyle reset. By adhering to these rules for a full year, you’re going to start seamlessly incorporating them into your everyday decisions well after the year is up.  It’s going to become your way of life.  For some of you, this will take much less than a year.  For others, it may take longer.  But the end result is that your days of bouncing from cleanse to cleanse are finally going to be behind you.  When you live a simple, healthy, and REAL life, removed from the junk and excess of your peers, you’ll have no need for a cleanse.

You can probably tell this Share It Fitness cleanse is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I think you get my drift.  There simply is no substitute for healthy living, real food, and a bit of exercise more days than not. No cleanse in the world is going to rid you of your bad habits.  At best they’ll help you drop a little water weight and look slimmer for a couple of weeks.  Stop the cleanse-hopping and finally build the foundation of a healthy lifestyle that will help you achieve so much more than any cleanse ever could.

  1. Great post! I completely agree with this. Definitely an everyday process of sticking to healthy eating, but it’s so worth it in the end.
