Indulge yourself


Every now and again, it’s okay to indulge in your favorite foods.  Excessively restrictive diets often require you to give up entire food groups and NEVER allow for a simple indulgence.  All this does is set you up for failure.  Once you begin a diet and you start losing weight, the feelings of deprivation begin to kick in, your motivation dries up, and you experience those “cravings” for certain foods you know you aren’t allowed to have.  This will often lead to binge eating.  Binge eating will destroy any diet plan and throw even the most motivated and disciplined dieters off track.  To avoid this, indulge in things you truly love, every now and then.  This will help keep the cravings at bay and you on track.

Try this tasty milkshake recipe below as your “once in a while” treat.

Fruit Pie Milkshake

-1 slice of your favorite fruit pie

-1 scoop vanilla ice cream

-Dash of vanilla extract

-1 cup of milk (add more to reach desired consistency)

Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.  Enjoy!
